A YEAR IN REVIEW

1914
The need for an agency to dispose relieve in the City of Brantford was felt. 
1917 The Social Service League engages a special Vicotiran Order of Nurses to work in connection with child welfare for assistance in the city and suburbs.
1920 The Social Service League arranged to rent Willard Hall, our present premises on Wellington Street.
1925 During this year 101 Well Baby Clinics were conducted involving 4, 397 babies and per-school children.  The nurses and staff of the Social Service League made 5,047 home visits
1927

The Social Service League and the Lions Club co-0perated in the matter of a Mother’s Camp. In 1928, there were 9 mothers and 10 children.

1931

2,880 home visits and 2, 464 babies attended The Well Baby Clinic

1942

The Social Service League purchased the building known as Willard Hall. 37 Wellington St.

179 office interviews, 65 home visits, 341 telephone calls and 15 new cases.
Only 4 staff with no degrees in Social Work.
1956
Name is changed to The Family Service Bureau of Brantford and Brant County, Inc.
Motto: “To help individuals and Families achieve their optimal development.”
1969

 Agency became the only completely professional counselling agency in the area.

1978

Budget was just over $72,000. 1300 Interviews with 3 Marriage and Family Counsellors.

1981

Family Support Services begins to help families with children who have developmental handicaps.

1984
Budget was $143, 475.
2,022 Interviews were conducted.
1988
Took the name of FAMILY COUNSELLING CENTRE.
Accreditation Certificate presented - Ontario Association of Family Service Agencies.
1992

Special Services at Home for Adults was acquired.

1993

Budget was $246, 594. 4000 hours of service was provided.

1994 Walk-in Counselling Clinic offered
1995 Eastdale Neighbourhood Association begins "The Eastdale LaunchPad". 
1996 Family Relief Program in Place
2000 Autism Initiative program begins as a pilot program
2004 Autism Program transferred to Lansdowne Children's Centre
2004 AGENCY CELEBRATES 90 YEARS OF SERVICE
2005 "The Eastdale LaunchPad" moves to Echo Place School 
2005 A new Launch Pad opens at St. Gabriel's Elementary School
