Client Confidentiality

The Family Counselling Centre of Brant, Inc. is highly committed to maintaining privacy and the confidential nature of discussions with clients. Information may only be shared within the Counselling department's team for case management and quality assurance purposes.

Some standard exceptions to confidentiality apply. To release information to an external person, client consent is required, unless subpoenaed to court.

We are also required by law to report concerns where a therapist has reasonable grounds to suspect that a child, under the age of sixteen, is in need of protection, or is at risk of harm; or where a person is in clear and imminent danger to self or others and is in need of outside assistance.
